Fix a Common “Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage” issue

This problem is very common in systems that have a virus installed. The fix will usually get Internet Explorer back online so you can get tech help. It does not remove the virus, only a tech can do that.

 

 

Steps

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools
  2. Click Internet Options
  3. Click the Connections tab at the top of the small window
  4. Click the LAN Settings
  5. Check the box by “Automatically detect settings” and make sure everything else is unchecked
  6. Click OK and try to get online
